We have a new addition to our family, and I wanted to let all of our friends know. Well, let me start by telling you the entire story. On Saturday night, Adam was not at home, Mary Kahlen was asleep, and there was a knock at the door around 9:30 p.m. So, as I peeked through the blinds and finally opened the door, there was a young guy out there who had picked up a small dog in the road and was trying to find his home. The poor guy seemed exhausted and had already knocked on several doors. So, I offered to keep the dog in our back yard and make a flyer to see if it belonged to anyone in our neighborhood. Now, I am not much of a dog person, so I wasn't aware of it being a Jack Russell Terrier...which, from what I now understand, are very hyper animals. Anyway, four days later we still have the dog, it has gotten out three times and has barked through most of each night. THE AD STARTS RUNNING TODAY!!! Posters are going up tomorrow in our neighborhood...would have been sooner, but the rain has delayed the process a bit.
I know you are thinking, okay, the picture below is not a Jack Russell Terrier...no, it's not. So, now to my real Family Addition story. On Sunday night, Adam was talking to my mother, who told him that she had a friend who had a German Shephard she wanted to find a good home for because her circumstances had changed, etc. She was going to give it away and not sell it...excellent selling point! Because German Shephard's were high on our list for the type of dog we wanted for Mary Kahlen, we decided to go for it, and Adam went and picked him up on Monday. So, we went from zero dogs to two dogs in about 30 seconds!
My mom told Adam his name was "Haas," but I told Adam that would not be his name at the Bryant house...little too redneck for me. So, we named him "Axel." Axel is 13 months old and very active. He's very pretty and we are excited. So, without further delay...meet Axel...
