SOUTHERN SNOW!!!!!

SNOW in LaGrange...can you believe it??? We haven't had snow here in about six years and on Mary Kahlen's first year here, she was blessed with playing in the snow. Yes, I realize she had no idea what was going on, but it was still great to be able to have the pictures of her in the snow. :)
So, here is our little snow angel, sitting on our deck in her little pink snow suit. I know what you are thinking...why in the world would you even have a snow suit if you haven't had snow in six years, well, my Memaw just happen to have one and gave it to me a few weeks ago "just in case." Thanks Memaw!

The Creation :)

Okay, I'm sure you are wondering why I've posted a picture of a pair of overalls. Well, I'll start from the beginning. Mary Kahlen's birthday is coming up on January 25th. Her party theme, of course, is Princess...I mean, was there a question??? Okay, so I began my search for a birthday party outfit. I found a pair of overalls that I fell in love with, but the price...not so much. $75 was a little extreme. So, I decided that I could make my little princess her own party outfit. Yes, that is what I decided. Now, for those of you who do not know. I made a C in Home Economics, why? you may ask, well, because my vest only had one arm hole and I had to model it. Needless to say, I had a difficult time keeping it on and my teacher had a difficult time believing I made it that way on purpose!
So, I ventured out to find the perfect material...and I did. As you can see, I did finish the overalls. The material is chenille, which is so soft, and the ribbon, which I'm not sure if you can tell or not, says "princess" and has crowns all over it. So, for my second actually sewing project, I think I did pretty well. Any orders??? That will be $75 please. :)

A Day with Erin & Olivia!

I know it's been a while since I've done a post...however, I have a few to do today, so I should catch everyone up! Erin, who I lovingly call my Schwartzleecoff, and her daughter Olivia, came up from Blakely to visit us for the day. It was so great to see them. I have been going through major Erin withdrawals, and Olivia is so PRECIOUS!
This was the first time that Olivia and Mary Kahlen had actually met, and as you can see, they had a wonderful time playing together. As the girls spent time playing, Erin and I visited, and then we had a wonderful lunch at Milano's.
Message to Erin and Olivia...COME BACK SOON, WE LOVE AND MISS YOU!!!
